Dear parents and carers of Stepney Park Primary School.

Here are this week’s messages:

Breakfast club:

We are pleased to inform you that from Monday 4th October, we will once again be running a daily Breakfast Club.  The Breakfast Club will be free of charge and will run from 8:00am until 8:50am every day. In order to access the breakfast club, children need to be in school before 8.15 am.

Children from parents who work or study and those from vulnerable families will be given priority, we have around 50 places available in total.  Parents need to book a place in advance, so we can ensure that we have enough staff on duty.  Children will be provided with a range of breakfast food, including cereals, fruit and bagels.  They will do a range of activities inside and outside.  If you would like your children to attend this club, please contact the office.

Homework and Reading:

Research has shown that reading with your child is the best thing a parent can do to support learning at home. Listening to your child read at home and talking to them about their book for 10 minutes or longer every day will make an enormous difference to their reading fluency and confidence.  This will teach your child that reading is important and that books can be enjoyed together.  Reading to your child is also hugely beneficial, so I would like to encourage parents to enjoy books with their child as much as possible.  For further information, this is our homework page.

Uniform:

Please do not send your child to school in tracksuit bottoms. Children should also not wear leggings without a dress or a skirt.

White T -shirts are for PE and are not part of the school uniform. Thank you for your support.  For further information, this is our uniform page.

Kind regards,

Edith Philipsen
