Learning in Year 3

In year 3, we have been learning lots about place value,  using objects and drawings to help us to solve both addition and subtractions. This past week we have focused on making an ‘exchange’ in calculations. We have been resilient in our learning and had to remind ourselves of the importance of making mistakes so that we can improve our understanding and learning until we feel confident.

We have conducted some interesting experiments in Science and have explored friction using cars on ramps and a variety of different textured materials to see the effect they have on a car’s speed and distance. We have also looked at plants and specifically how water and nutrients travel to the leaves through a water absorption experiment which we observed over time.

During PE, we have been keeping fit and active with circuit activities which have included jumping, catching and throwing. We have been working on team building skills with some fun games too!
