More than half a million Bangladeshis live in the UK. We have not forgotten our Bengali roots and monuments such as the Shahid Minar in Altab Ali Park in East London are important reminders of the need for commemoration and to help inform the younger generation about shared heritage.
Bangladesh'71 is a documentary film made by young people about the Liberation struggle of Bangladesh. This was made through Rainbow Film Society's training programme. It uses archival footage to explore the history and sacrifices of Bengali people in order to achieve independence.
