Support for Parents

We know that the relationship between school and parents can be critical to supporting children to succeed, and through parent-teacher meetings and other events, we aim to build a positive and productive one.

We also know that life can be unpredictable and that sometimes parents need support. At Stepney Park, we can offer a wide range of support:

Pastoral Care Team

Parental engagement is supported by our excellent Pastoral Care Team (PCT).

                     Khaleda                                   Shipa                                   Tom

The PCT supports both children and their parents. They can support with parenting, attendance, health and well-being, admissions and they can sometimes support with other personal circumstances like parents who may struggle to afford uniform. On some occasions, this support is provided through scheduled workshops and on others it may be on an ad hoc basis.

If the school is unable to provide the support a parent needs, we may also be able to refer them to another agency which is able to offer it.

Community Events

There is enormous strength in our community and we know that, for many parents, a connection with others can be very supportive. As such, we offer a range of activities to help parents to connect with each other. For further details regarding any of these events, please speak to a member of the PCT:

  • Coffee Mornings. Every Monday from 9.00am-10.30am, the PCT hold a coffee morning when you can meet other parents and find out about events and support available in Tower Hamlets.
  • Toddler Group. In the Summer term, a weekly toddler group runs for children and their parents to come and play together.
  • Workshops. The PCT provide a range of workshops throughout the school year. Look out for details in the weekly newsletter and on noticeboards around the school site.
