Dear parents and carers of children in Stepney Park Primary School.
It was lovely seeing so many of you at Victoria Park last week and at our recent Sports’ Days. The children had a fantastic time; thank you for your support.
Transition Day
We have our transition day this Friday; your child will have an opportunity to spend some time in their new class and with their new teacher to help prepare them for the new school year in September. Before the end of this year, teachers will arrange a handover meeting with the next teacher, so that all important information (including academic results and where support might be needed) can be passed on. However, please get in touch with the current class teacher if you would like anything particular to be passed on.
Parents will be invited to a year-group meeting with the new teachers at the start of next year, so this will also be a good time to pass on information or ask questions.
Children in most classes keep the same tree name as they move into a new group, e.g. 1 Willow becomes 2 Willow etc. However, as in previous years, children currently in reception and year 3 will be mixed into new classes for next year. This supports children’s social skills as they interact with a wider range of their peers and helps to ensure the classes are balanced. Parents of children in EYFS will get an email soon which will tell them which class their child will be in. Children in year 3 were told which class they are going to be in (Maple, Oak or Willow) and will be able to tell their parents.
Please find below your child’s class and teacher for next year, alongside information about who will be the year group lead and assistant head.
