Headteacher's News

Friday 6th March 2026

Dear parents and carers of Stepney Park,

Parent-Teacher Meetings. As you know, our parent-teacher meetings will take place on Tuesday 24th March; as usual, school will close to children at 1.00pm to allow these to happen. Thank you to the 62% of parents who have already booked their meeting times. If you haven’t yet, please click here to do so.

World Book Day. We marked World Book Day this week. Children (and staff!) had the opportunity to dress up as a book character. Children also read The Girl at the Front of the Class by Onjali Rauf with their partner class: older children were asked to take responsibility and support a younger child to learn about the story. As well as the fun of the day, World Book Day is also a reminder that reading to and with your child is one of the very best ways of supporting educational achievement.

All the best for the week ahead.

Richard.

Headteacher, Stepney Park Primary School.

Stars of Stepney Park

A busy week in Y2. In Science, Y2 became real-life explorers as they delved into the world of habitats. They took an exciting visit to the school woodlands to investigate different microhabitats and were thrilled to discover the array of fascinating living things making their homes there.

Their artistic flair was also on full display this week. Taking inspiration from famous portrait artists such as Frida Kahlo and Pablo Picasso, the children were ambitious in their creations. They began by drawing detailed self-portraits on paper, before moving on to collaborate on the next stage: using clay to mould and sculpt incredible 3D portraits. The results are truly stunning and show how much effort they put in!

Year 2 also had a visit from a firefighter! They learnt about different ways of preventing a fire and what to do when there is an emergency.
