Headteacher's News

 Thursday 19th March 2026

Dear parents and carers of Stepney Park,

Our newsletter is coming to you on a Thursday this week because, as you know, the school will be closed for Eid al-Fitr tomorrow, Friday 20th March.

Earlier in the week, children collaborated with a partner from a different year group to create beautiful Eid decorations for the school halls. This was a great way for older children to take responsibility and support younger children, while also marking the upcoming celebration. We will also be marking Eid next week on Wednesday, when children can wear their own clothes and there will be a special Eid lunch.

All the best for the week ahead, and Eid Mubarak to all who are celebrating.

Richard.

Headteacher, Stepney Park Primary School.

Celebrations in Nursery. This term in Nursery, children have been exploring and celebrating different cultures and special occasions. The children have particularly enjoyed learning about the vibrant festival of Holi, where they created their own colourful artwork using water-based pens and spray bottles. These beautiful patterns have brightened up our classroom and helped us understand the joy and meaning behind the festival.

The children have also been thinking about the special people in their lives. They have carefully made lovely cards to celebrate Mother’s Day, showing their appreciation for family members who care for them.

Supertato in Reception. Children in reception have been reading the book Supertato! The evil pea has been on the loose in their classroom, causing lots of mischief!  The children have had fun picking him up with tweezers and putting him in jail, which has really helped improve their fine motor skills. In maths, they have been racing vegetables by rolling the dice and counting up to 20. Our wanted posters helped Supertato catch the pea in a big red jelly; which we then enjoyed playing in. We have really enjoyed exploring Supertato in our environment!
