Headteacher's News

 Friday 5th June 2026

Dear parents and carers of Stepney Park,

I hope you enjoyed the half term and, for those who celebrate, had a good day on Eid.

Sports Day. With the exception of one downpour over lunch, we were very lucky with the weather for yesterday’s sports day and children in years 3 to 6 had a great time competing in various athletics disciplines. I was delighted to see the sportsmanly behaviour from children across the school: they cheered each other on, especially during the longer race and congratulated others for their efforts.

Well done in particular to our eight new 100m champions:

  • Year 3: Wadi, Israe

  • Year 4: Zakariya, Zafreen

  • Year 5: Idris, Arij

  • Year 6: Shafqat, Aneesha

And well done also to our eight new 400m champions:

  • Year 3: Rafsane, Israe

  • Year 4: Adam, Zafreen

  • Year 5: Idris, Arij

  • Year 6: Farhan, Aneesha

All the best for the week ahead,

Richard.

Headteacher, Stepney Park Primary School.

Stars of Stepney Park

Nursery’s trip to the farm. This week in Nursery, the children have been enjoying the story of The Three Little Pigs. They have loved listening to the traditional tale and talking about the different houses the pigs built. They also had an exciting trip to our local farm, where they learnt about the animals in real life. The children also got to see chickens, pigs, goats and more.

Artists in reception. In reception, children have been learning about the artists Yayoi Kusama and Wassily Kandinsky. Kusama paints dots on different fruits, vegetables and plants; the children took inspiration from her art work and painted dots on the three billy goats and the troll. Children also made their own Kandinsky artwork by painting big different coloured circles, cutting them out and sticking them on top of each other. Their work now hangs proudly on the corridor wall!
