Headteacher's News

 Friday 26th June 2026

Dear parents and carers of Stepney Park,

Extreme Heat. This week has, of course, been an unusual one as a result of the early closures due to the heat. This has necessitated a number of decisions with quite limited notice to keep children safe, so I would like to say thank you to parents and carers across the school for your support and flexibility over the last few days. With temperatures set to come down next week, I think we will all be hoping for a return to something closer to normality.

Reminder: Summer Fair. We will be holding our Summer fair on Wednesday 1st July. The school day will end slightly earlier than usual at 3.00pm and the fair will last until 4.30pm. There will be a wide range of classic games to play for free, as well as stalls to buy things and a raffle. For further details, see the separate letter that was sent to parents on the 16th of June.

Multiplication Tables Check. Children in year 4 recently completed the Multiplication Tables Check - an online times tables test that all children in year 4 complete nationally. They did extremely well: 66% of them achieved full marks. We won’t know the national average for a number of months, but given that last year only 37% of children nationally achieved full marks, we expect our children in year 4 to be considerably above average. Well done to them all - they’ve put in a great deal of effort throughout the year to reach this achievement.

All the best for the week ahead,

Richard.

Headteacher, Stepney Park Primary School.

Stars of Stepney Park

Family fun in the park with Forest and Meadow. Forest & Meadow had a wonderful time on their recent trip to Stepney Green Park! Before their visit, they shared a social story to help prepare everyone for what to expect and to build excitement for their day. They then used their core boards and symbols to choose what they wanted to do at the park. They had fun on the swings, climbing frame and slide, and enjoyed playing with balloons, bubbles and the parachute.
