Wednesday 22nd July 2026
Dear parents and carers of Stepney Park,
It’s an unusual Wednesday newsletter from me this week as of course the school will close for Summer tomorrow, at the earlier than usual time of 1.00pm.
It’s been a fantastic school year: our Y6 children beat national averages in all subjects in their SATs for the fifth year in a row and our internal tests show children across the rest of the school doing better than ever. The foundation that academic learning provides children is of course essential, but we’ve seen success so much more widely this year too. We’ve had more musical performances than ever; the triumphant first year of the drama club; victories in football tournaments and the chess league and the spelling bee against other local schools. It’s been a privilege to see how much children across the school have achieved.
In light of this great year of learning, I’d like to thank staff across the school. Their hard work and dedication allows children to thrive. I’d also like to thank you. Education is of course a partnership between parents and school: the support and challenge that parents have provided through the year has contributed hugely to the success of the school.
Finally, I’d like to wish you all a fantastic Summer and we look forward to welcoming children back on Wednesday 2nd September 2026.
All the best for the Summer,
Richard.
