Headteacher's News

Tuesday 1st September 2026

Dear parents and carers of Stepney Park,

Firstly, I hope you had a wonderful Summer, however it was that you spent it.

We are looking forward to welcoming your children back to school tomorrow. We know that some children will be feeling excited and others a little more nervous, but I can assure you that we will be doing whatever we can to ensure that children have a smooth start to the year.

End of the school day. I’d like to ask for your patience at the end of the school day for the first few days of term. As staff don’t necessarily know you yet, picking up your child might take a little longer than usual as staff ensure they know who is collecting whom. As I wrote in July, any existing consent you have provided for your child to be picked up by someone else or to go home on their own will continue to apply from tomorrow unless you let us know otherwise. I’ve also included a map below showing where each year group is collected from.

Meet the Teacher. As usual, we will run short Meet the Teacher sessions for each year group in the first couple of weeks of term. These are an opportunity to hear about what is coming up in your child’s year group and to get some key logistical information such as what days children need PE kits. There is also an opportunity to ask any questions you have about your child’s new year group. These will all take place at 9.10am just after children have been dropped off for school, and are scheduled as follows:

  • Nursery - Wednesday 16th September

  • Reception - Tuesday 15th September

  • Y1 - Monday 14th September

  • Y2 - Friday 11th September

  • Y3 - Thursday 10th September

  • Y4 - Tuesday 8th September

  • Y5 - Wednesday 9th September

  • Y6 - Monday 7th September.

All the best for the week ahead.

Richard.
