A brrrbrrrr..brilliant start to December

Free clip art "Cold kid" by nlyl

We are all appreciating our warm coats as temperatures drop outside!  Inside is cosy, and our festive cheer is keeping us extra warm.  Our Christmas decorations, which all the children worked so hard on, have gone up, and the school is looking colourful and bright.  Across the school, children are enjoying learning the Christmas songs for their performances - we hope they are practising them at home with you too!

Read on to see how our Learning Behaviours are evident across the school and see our great work and the wide variety of experiences we have been having.

Remember you can go to the Curriculum section of our website to find out all about what we are doing in our subjects this year, so you can always feel informed as to what your children are learning.    Each year group has an overview so you can know what we are learning across the year.

Don't forget to go to the Parental Engagement page for further updates on opportunities in school and across Tower Hamlets and check out the important dates below.

Thank you for your continued support of your child's learning and our school.

We have lots of news to share this letter, so please read it carefully!

The Eatwell Guide

eat well

The Eatwell Guide is used to support everyone eating healthily and achieve a balanced diet. The Eatwell Guide illustrates the right proportions of different food groups. You do not need to achieve the correct balance of different food groups at every meal, but it is suggested to try to get the right balance over a period of a day or even a week. The five main food groups are:

  • Fruits and vegetables
  • Starchy carbohydrates
  • Dairy and alternatives
  • Protein foods
  • Oils and spreads

Your body needs nutrients all of the five food groups to stay healthy and work properly. In addition, we should also aim to drink 6 to 8 glasses of fluid every day. For more information on the Eatwell Guide, please click on the link below:

Children's Centres

A list of all children's centres in Tower Hamlets is available here.  They have so many different activities on every day and are a great way to do different things with your young children and meet other people.  An example is below.

NURSERY PARENTS!!!

Reception school admissions: starting reception in 2023/24

Pupils usually start primary school in the September following their fourth birthday. If your child was born between 1 September 2018 and 31 August 2019 this will be from September 2023. You must Make an online application for a reception place, even if your child is already attending the school's nursery.

There is no automatic right of transfer from the nursery class to the reception class in the same school, and attending a nursery class does not give any priority for admission to reception class at the same school.

You must apply via the e-admissions portal.

Closing date for making applications is 15 January 2023.
