A Message from Edith the Headteacher

Dear Parents and Carers of Stepney Park Primary school,

The end of the 3rd week is near, time is flying!  Children have been working very hard; I have seen lots of chromebook  work going on in classes. When I ask children about what they enjoy most about the new school,  they tend to tell me they really enjoy using their chromebooks. I hope that children who are self isolating are able to use their chromebooks at home as well. We are still working very hard to set up all procedures and processes, and feel confident that we will soon be ready for a year group or full lock down, should this happen.

Wet and cold weather:

This week has seen the beginning of the Autumn, and the weather changed dramatically. Please make sure that your child comes to school with a waterproof and warm coat.

The ponchos we have ordered are due to arrive today (Thursday) , I hope in time before hometime!

Drop off reminder:

Parents can decide to drop of Yr 1 to Yr 6 children at any of our 4 gates. EYFS children need to be dropped off at Redmans’s Road, but older children can also use this gate, if this makes it easier for the families.

Packed lunches reminder :

Parents are asked to not send a packed lunch in unless this has been agreed with school staff in the most exceptional circumstances. We are unable to ensure that home packed lunches are safe, if eaten around children with severe food allergies. We will be looking at choices for packed lunches in the next few weeks.

All children from Reception to Year 6 continue to receive a free lunch each day.

Self isolation:

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping children and staff safe by self -isolating when asked to do so. I have been told that 25% of Tower Hamlets schools have already needed to send a Year group home to self isolate, due to a Covid outbreak (2 or more cases in the bubble). Symptoms of Covid in children are very similar to a common cold, and I feel  we are doing the right things by being very cautious.

Have a nice weekend,

Kindest regards,

Edith Philipsen

Headteacher- Stepney Park Primary School.
